Beholder-HSP 3-axis gimbal. Saying goodbye to the editing studio.

With only a few weeks left at the current studio and with the arrival of the Beholder-HSP 3-axis gimbal I thought I'd give it a try doing something useful. A quick studio tour for posterity before we move to the new studio.

Simmons Wheel Catalog 2015

I've been given the prestigious task of photographing the 2015 Simmons Wheel line-up. It took a few sessions to get the lighting model just right but, in the end, the products look great and that's all that matters. I'm just glad I had an assistant to carry the wheels to and from the photography area (except for the last day... ohh gosh I can still feel the aches and pains).

The Shogun and the Butterfly

I started humming this tune a few days ago and I couldn't get it out of my head. Sat down to Ableton to write out the main theme, then made a piano and flute adlib that seemed to fit. I hope you enjoy it.

Brothers in Arms (Film Short) Behind The Scenes

We spent the day (and night) shooting Gil Ben-Moshe's up-and-coming epic short film, Brothers in Arms at Puntino's Italian Restaurant, Sydney. I was pleasantly surprised with the performance of the GH4 on the day, however, by nightfall I had to switch back to the 550D... due to battery issues. Thats right... I got to get more stuff for the GH4 for bigger productions, including more battery power!

Headshot promo stills released

To promote the release of Headshot, here are some nice stills from the film. I'm quite happy how they turned out, especially the lighting. It was such a fun shoot. Tight shooting schedule! Missed out on the 4th of July celebrations (that was the day we wrapped), but anyway... such is life.

Awakening - Trailer Music

Another trailer piece, this time clocking in at approx 1m 30s - just the right length for a 90 second trailer spot. This trailer score has the popular "third act" beat of silence before going all out around the 1 minute mark, allowing for trailer editors to go to town on some over-the-top visuals. Well, that's the theory of it anyway.
